The Prime Minister of Jamaica is Jamaica's head of government, currently Portia Simpson Miller. portia simpson miller was elected as the new leader of the governing peoples national Party and succeeded andrew holness to become Jamaica's ninth Prime Minister on 23 October 2011. [1]. she has recently been prime minister with the defeat of the jamaica labour party{jlp}on December 29,2011.
The Prime Minister is formally appointed into office by the Governor General of Jamaica, who represents Elizabeth II, the Queen of Jamaica (Jamaica's Head of State).
